Guardians of the Gem

A turn-based, strategy game entered into the GMTK Game Jam 2023.  The theme of the game jam is role reversal.  In this game, you control the guards protecting the treasure instead of the daring ninja tasked with stealing it.

Your guards can only move in straight lines like rook pieces in chess.  They can not cross barriers.  The ninja will only appear if he is in a guard's line of sight.  That means he's invisible most of the time!  Move a guard onto the ninja's tile to attack him.  The ninja has 3 lives.  If he gets to the treasure, you'll lose the game!

Note: if you're having trouble playing the game in your browser, make sure you've enabled WebAssembly and WebGL.  Also, try updating your browser.  Alternatively, simply download the Windows or Linux version and play that instead.
